A Woman of Substance

I have known a few, in my days.

Beauty fades, but intelligence, character, and people with goals and purposes worthy of respect endure.

Former US Secretary Madeleine Albright was all those things.

Her story began in her native country  CZECHOSLOVAKIA…..as …… a child AGE  11 AS A REFUGEE….

born to…JOSEF AND ANNA KORBEL…MAY 15 1937.

She/they immigrated to the United States where she became known by her new name…..

She studied hard and proved herself at school….in….Columbia, Wellesley, and Johns Hopkins.

Siblings, JOHN, AND KATHERINE.

Husband,  JOSEPH ALBRIGHT, JOURNALIST.

Her Children,  ALICE, ANNE, KATHERINE.

Albright was Appointed by President  Bill Clinton…..in…..1997

She was entrusted to represent the US as Secretary of State and did so from 1997-2001.

Her friends included……..The Clintons, Bidens and Obamas.

Her accomplishments are numerous…..here are just some to think on….

The Clinton’s, Obama’s, and Biden’s attended the service at National Cathedral as did Condoleezza Rice. A mass was held in Prague at Cardinal St. Vitus Cathedral. Retired Secret Servicemen, who guarded her in years past, served her finally as her pallbearers.
